I've lived what feels like many lives — learned and studied all over the world, and let those personal experiences and encounters lead and shape my vision for this brand. It's all of the travel, all of the food, all of the letdowns, all of the happiness, all of the breakthroughs — all of the everything that I think myself and fellow creatives deal with and manage on a daily basis, sometimes with no outlet or release. More Insane 1o1 embodies that — my release, my therapy, if you will, in a fashionable way.
Every piece is handmade and unique — just like the wearer, who has their own individuality and uses style to express it. I source materials from my actual travels abroad and incorporate them into my design process when crafting each piece. I lean on a lot of older techniques, primarily chain stitch and chenille embroidery, as well as traditional sashiko hand stitching, on most pieces — giving each one a true one-of-one detail I believe gets overlooked in today's fast fashion world.
The art is usually a team effort — meaning a lot of times I just rope my colleagues into working on pieces without them even knowing they'll be participating. But the finished products are beautiful to me, and I enjoy sharing the process with my friends and those closest to me. I really just get lost in the work of what I'm doing, and it shows in the final product.
A look inside the process — the studio, the stitching, the pieces before they're finished. Everything here started as a mess on a workbench.
